My bags are just about packed for life instyle - only a few more things to squeeze in! These are a shots of some of the essentials: business cards, props, hot toffee sign etc. It has been organised chaos here over the last few weeks as I figure out once again how to fit a whole trade show display into a single suitcase - I do love this challenge. I'm really looking forward to visiting Melbourne again - it seems to cast some kind of magic over me.

thankfully Ryo is a very patient soul. Living with someone who works from home in a creative field must be frustrating to say the least. I'm in full life instyle preparation mode now which means a little hot toffee chaos has spread to almost every room in our home...

coffee at honeybee...

I so want to sit in that colourful courtyard with a friend and enjoy a coffee. Yesterday I sent a package of hot toffee to Wyan and the gorgeous girls at honeybee in Newcastle. Looks like a lovely shop to find that perfect gift for someone!

Historic Wiss Emporium* in Kalbar now has a selection of hot toffee cuff links in store. The Wiss Emporium is heritage listed and has been lovingly restored by Kristine Markwell who won a National Trust heritage conservation award for doing so. The building itself is very impressive and stocks designer label clothing, fine arts, ceramics and more!

limited edition

Sorry for the lack of posting, I have been on a study tour for 7 days straight with 27 students from Hong Kong. We had a great time visiting places around Queensland with the highlight for the kids being feeding the kangaroos and cuddling the koalas at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

I am back in action so hope to be posting every couple of days.

lolly drops

These earrings were an experiment using little pieces of glass off cuts that were sitting on my desk just wanting to be made into something. They reflect light beautifully and are different colours from different angles. They will be available in my etsy shop tomorrow.

I love lining things up as I make them - it gives me a sense of achievement to see the item lined up at different stages of the making. These earrings are simple and striking. There are a couple of pairs available in my made it shop. The full range is available on my website.

meet the makers

This Friday, March 28, I'll be taking part in 'meet the makers' at Artisan. It's held on the last Friday of each month and it is a chance to meet three artists/crafts poeople who showcase their work at Artisan. This month it's Haasch, Momoko and myself, hot toffee.

lolly cubes

I've always loved work in progress and I often find inspiration for new work at certain stages of creating. The lolly cubes were inspired by studs I had lined up and ready to fire..I loved the look of them as they were so did some research and experimenting with tack fusing with the lolly cube range as a result. They are now my favourite to make. I can't help loving them at all stages, the glass before firing, the smoothness of them after firing, the reflection on the top of each one and how when the glue is setting they look like they belong in a little forest casting their individual shadows.
