frankie

I love this magazine and have every issue since I first came across it over 2 years ago. Treat yourself to issue 22 of Frankie which is on newsagency shelves now. There are 4 pairs of my strawberry and cream lolly cubes to giveaway too!

little washi dresses

I cut tiny pieces of Japanese paper to make my little character's dresses. I started drawing her on the bottom of letters home to my family when I lived in Japan. She changes all the time, she used to have her eyes open all the time but now they are always closed - well they look closed as if she's deep in thought or just appreciating the moment. Often as I draw her, I feel a subtle release of emotions. The more I draw her the more content I feel. I definitely can not draw her when I'm feeling rushed as her hair tends to go crazy and I can't capture the subtle emotions in her facial features - I overdraw them and then she looks like someone else.
